A sermon on Romans 8: 26 - 39. Scripture is read, and pasted here:

Romans 8: 26 – 39.

²⁶ The Spirit, too, comes to help us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit expresses our pleas with groanings too deep for words. ²⁷ And God, who searches hearts, knows what is the mind of the Spirit because her intercessions for God’s holy people are made according to the will of God. ²⁸ We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to God’s purpose. ²⁹ For those whom God foreknew are also predestined to be conformed to the image of God’s Only Begotten, in order that Christ might be the firstborn of a large family. ³⁰ And those whom God predestined were also called, and those whom God called were also justified, and those whom God justified have also been glorified.

³¹ How then, should we respond to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? ³² Since God did not spare even the Only Begotten One, but gave Christ up for the sake of all, how will God not, with Christ, also give us everything else? ³³ Who will bring any charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who is to condemn? It is Christ who died, or rather, who was raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who now intercedes for us! 

³⁵ Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Affliction? Distress? Persecution? Hunger? Nakedness? Danger? Violence? 

³⁶ As scripture says, “For your sake we are being killed all day long;
    we are looked upon as sheep to be slaughtered.”

³⁷ No, in all these things we are more than victorious because of God who has loved us!

³⁸ For I am convinced that not death, not life, not angels, not rulers, not things that are or things yet to come, not powers, ³⁹ not height, not depth, not anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that comes to us in Christ Jesus our Lord.
